WE gathered in the Fanzone rock bottom of the Championship.

There was plenty to discuss with Dougie Freedman’s return, no goals since April and what time everyone got home from Milton Keynes.

The general consensus was that three points were more important than any barracking of previous managers.

There was the new head-to-head football quiz plus Myth and Unity to entertain us.

The rejuvenated White Diamonds tried to lift spirits while the finale was an exclusive first hearing of Bolton’s adopted song, “Walking Down the Manny Road” by Jade Assembly.

It needs slowing down a bit to allow us older ones to catch up and sing along! Maybe play it at 33 and a 1/3 rpm?

We welcomed Wellington Silva to the fight and he lifted everyone with a confident display.

Like the other night at Milton Keynes, this was a good performance only lacking in the most important area, scoring goals.

It looked like we had been caught out again by a screamer from David Vaughan but thankfully Stephen Dobbie rescued a point well into overtime.

This may prove to be the most important goal of the season as without it, confidence would have plummeted.

It’s certainly a contender for goal of the month.

Managing Bolton Wanderers is a massive challenge for anyone, having to rebuild the club with no money.

Dougie Freedman started the dirty work getting the wage bill down but the job became too much for him, it all went sour and he paid the price.

Neil Lennon has continued that process and must be given time to be successful.

The grumblers were out in force on Tuesday night. We have a lot of new players to bed in, along with young players becoming established and returning injured players getting back up to match fitness.

#It is understandable that fans are getting frustrated with the slide down the football ladder and it’s human nature that fans find scapegoats to blame.

However, we really do need to all pull together, from the boardroom down to the fans to see us through these bad times.
