WANDERERS’ Ladies continued to test themselves against higher league opposition as they build towards the new season, fighting out a 2-2 draw with Liverpool Feds at John Moores University.
Although their previous three friendlies ended in defeat, John Oliver’s side has played some encouraging football and that continued against the Merseysiders, whose first team compete in the FA Women’s Premier League.
After going a goal down early on, the Whites responded with a well-taken goal from Gabby Yates, who had been played in by Rachel Whitelegg and Hayley Langford.
Liverpool retook the lead from the penalty spot after captain Katie Miller was penalised for handball.
But once again Wanderers scrapped their way back into the game, taking advantage of the gaps that were opening up.
An equaliser arrived when Katie Winder’s flick found Chloe Fell, who made no mistake with a crisp finish.
