WANDERERS could wrap up the signing of former Everton midfielder Leon Osman next week.

The 35-year-old, capped twice by England, was invited to Lostock to train over the last few days.

Osman has been on the lookout for a new club since leaving Goodison Park after 16 years in the summer.

Manager Phil Parkinson wants to add some goals to his midfield following the loss of Darren Pratley and Mark Davies to long-term injury.

Wanderers are free to sign Osman despite being under embargo and are also speaking with a right-back after Lewis Buxton was ruled out for several weeks.
