WANDERERS have been handed a home draw against League Two Grimsby Town in the first round of the FA Cup.

Phil Parkinson’s side will welcome the Mariners for a competitive fixture for the first time since 2001 when they both played in the old Division One.

Wanderers have never lost to Grimsby in the FA Cup but took three attempts to beat them in 1897. They then won at the first time of asking in 1933 and 2000 - en route to the semi-final - where goals from Bo Hansen and Eidur Gudjohnsen were enough to seal victory.

Grimsby currently lie sixth in League Two, managed by Paul Hurst, and have within their ranks defender Danny Collins, who spent a short time on trial at the Macron in the summer.

Bury have an all-League One tie against the team they face tomorrow night at Gigg Lane, AFC Wimbledon.
