TWO goals apiece from Alex Samizadeh and Luca Navarro earned Wanderers Under-18s a 4-2 comeback victory against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

Nicky Spooner’s side went into the U18 Professional Development League home clash looking to stretch their unbeaten run to three matches.

But it did not look likely when, despite dominating possession in the first half, they conceded twice against the run of play.

They went into half time 2-0 down and looking for a response after the break.

The deficit was halved when substitute Navarro played in Samizadeh and the young Whites were level when Navarro got in on the act with a strike from 18 yards.

Try as they might, Wanderers could not find a breakthrough until the 90th minute when Samizadeh took the ball around the Terriers’ keeper to score his second.

And the comeback was complete when Navarro headed home Dennis Politic’s cross soon after.

Coach Spooner was pleased with the response and told The Bolton News: “We started the game with a lot of possession without effecting the final third.

“After some positive passages of play we struggled to break down their defence.

“After the restart we upped our performance and energy.”

The U18s are back in action tomorrow when they host Sheffield Wednesday in a rearranged league clash, kick off at Lostock is 12pm.
