KEN Anderson remains confident Wanderers can achieve a ‘dream’ promotion despite the setback at Oldham Athletic.

Phil Parkinson’s side lost 1-0 at Boundary Park, meaning their lead over Fleetwood and Bradford has been cut to four points over the Easter weekend.

That could be whittled down further before the Whites face Bury on Tuesday – but the chairman insists there is no need for panic.

“It is very much fine margins in football and especially now, at the business end of the campaign, that is as true as ever,” he wrote in a column issued on Saturday evening on the official website.

“The magic statistic however is for us to win two of our remaining three matches – if we can do that, then regardless of how other teams around us fare, we will be promoted.

“I am sure that the chasing pack would prefer to be in our position at this stage of the season however as opposed to playing catch-up as they are. There will, as I keep saying, be more twists and turns along the way, but we are tantalisingly close to achieving our dream and I firmly believe we can do just that.

“We are united across the football club, from the manager and the team to all of the staff and the supporters – we have come this far and together, we can succeed.”

Fleetwood face Millwall at home on Monday while Bradford travel to newly-crowned champions Sheffield United.
