WANDERERS have re-signed French defender Dorian Dervite on a one-year deal with an option.

The former Charlton Athletic centre-half re-invented himself in the second half of last season to play a major part in the promotion from League One.

Dervite formed the best defensive unit in the Football League alongside Mark Beevers and David Wheater, featuring 14 times from late-February onward.

In total, he has played 83 times for the Whites since signing in the summer of 2014.

“I'm really pleased to have the deal sorted,” said Dervite. “Since joining the club three years ago, I have enjoyed my time here and last season, it was fantastic to be a part of a promotion-winning team.

“I liked working with the manager last year and I am pleased that my contract has been sorted early on in the summer so that I can focus on my pre-season preparations.

“I look forward to playing Championship football once again and hopefully making more happy memories with Bolton Wanderers.”

Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson added: “Dorian was a bit of a forgotten man last year but came in and made an excellent contribution towards the end of the campaign.

“I am pleased that he has agreed to return to the club.”
