MAX Clayton will join Blackpool when his Wanderers contract expires on July 1.

The striker has been at the Macron since September 2014, when he became the last signing of the Dougie Freedman era, joining from Crewe.

Despite some bright moments early in Neil Lennon’s reign, the youngster suffered two serious injuries which restricted him to just 30 appearances in all competitions.

He came back into the equation under Phil Parkinson at the end of last year and scored a crucial equaliser at Coventry City in January.

But his lack of chances left him looking for options elsewhere, and he has now signed a one-year deal with the recently-promoted Seasiders, with the option of another 12 months based on appearances.
