CRAIG Noone would be the last man to complain about a hectic September schedule at Wanderers.

Phil Parkinson’s side face seven games in 21 days this month – including a Carabao Cup game at Premier League West Ham – but the work-load is music to the winger’s ears.

Noone has been desperate for regular football, frozen out at Cardiff City he has not played competitively since the end of April. But the 29-year-old is relishing the chance to get involved after signing a two-year deal at the Macron Stadium.

“With the amount of games coming up, and especially the home ones, we’ll be looking to get some points on the board,” he said.

“I looked at the fixtures and it’s about four weeks of Saturday-Tuesday. That’s perfect for me because I want to play as many games as I can.”

Wanderers resume after the international break with a home double-header against Middlesbrough and Sheffield United.

Parkinson could have Sammy Ameobi and David Wheater available, and has been boosted with the news Jem Karacan’s ankle injury is not as serious as first feared.

And Noone reckons he will be able to step straight into the reckoning, if picked, to give his manager more options this weekend.

“The international break has been perfect timing because I need some match fitness,” he said. “Training-wise I’ll be absolutely fine because I’m quite fit. But this gives me a week to sharpen up and then I’ll be ready to go.”

Wanderers are bottom of the table with two points from their first five games but the club’s poor start to the campaign did not put the midfielder off a move back to his native North West.

“The first aim is getting in the team, training well and getting on with the lads – I think the results will follow after that,” said the Liverpudlian

“Obviously playing time at Cardiff was restricted because they were doing so well in the league. I just can’t wait to get started at Bolton now and hopefully get some good results.

“I had different offers – some Championship, some League One – but I wanted to stay in this division and challenge myself.”
