WANDERERS Under-18s extended their unbeaten league run to three games with a 3-1 win at Barnsley on Saturday.

The U18 Professional Development League clash started evenly with both teams guilty of giving away possession to easily.

And that sloppiness proved costly for Nicky Spooner's side on 10 minutes when they lost the ball in their own half and failed to clear a cross leading to an opening goal for the Tykes.

The coach would have delighted with the response of his players, however, as they levelled the scores just three minutes later.

In-form Luca Navarro was the man to get the goal when he advanced to the Barnsley area before finding the net from distance.

The scoreline remained the same until half time but Wanderers came out brighter after the interval.

They attacked the hosts and their pressure paid off when Ted Moulden headed home at the near posts from a Navarro corner.

And they sealed all three points when Max Broughton headed home from Ronan Darcy's cross.

Spooner's young Whites are back on home turf at the Eddie Davies Academy on Saturday when they host Birmingham City, kick off 11.30am.
