TWO goals from Jeff King wasn’t enough to stop Wanderers’ development squad from losing 3-2 at Sheffield United.
The midfielder, who recently made his first team debut at West Ham in the Carabao Cup, opened the scoring after just four minutes.
The Blades drew level through Tyler Smith before two Oliver Greaves goals before half time put them into a comfortable lead.
King brought Wanderers back into the contest with a superb free-kick just before the hour mark but Harry Brockbank missed a golden chance to draw Wanderers level from the penalty box, his low effort pushed aside by Kyle Eastwood.
Wanderers gave a second trial game to former England Under-17s international Chris Regis, once on the books of Southampton and Arsenal.
