MATT Taylor admits he is struggling to live up to his own high standards in front of goal.

The Wanderers winger endured a torrid time against Arsenal at the Reebok on Sunday, missing a succession of gilt-edged chances.

Taylor has scored four times this season, but only once from open play. And he concedes that after hitting double figures last term, he is finding it difficult to hit the same heights.

“I think if I had scored a few more goals, people would be saying I was playing really well,” he said. “But I probably made a rod for my own back last season."
