Blackpool boss Paul Ince is surprised by Bolton Wanderers defender Alex Baptiste's scoring spree
BLACKPOOL manager Paul Ince admits he is astounded to see his former defender Alex Baptiste amongst the goals at Wanderers.
The 27-year-old is the current top scorer with three goals – the latest a last-gasp leveller against Yeovil on Saturday.
And Ince joked that football must have gone mad if Baptiste is leading the scoring charts.
The Seasiders boss said: “The game’s gone mad if Baps is top scorer!
“I’ve seen his goals and saw him marauding down the left – he never did that for me! But I’m looking forward to seeing him and I’m sure the lads are.
“Baps is a great lad and we tried to keep him here. Not just on the pitch, but off the pitch he’s a great lad. He made the decision to move to Bolton.
“But there’s no sentiment in football, we’ll see him after.”
