SAMBA star Andre Moritz reckons England fans are in for a treat when they travel to watch Roy Hodgson’s side play in the sweltering heat of the Amazon jungle next summer.

England open the competition against Italy in the tropical heat of Manaus and though the stunning surroundings should make for a memorable experience for the travelling supporters, Moritz admits the players might take a different view.

“It is a beautiful country; the Amazon is amazing,” he said. “I have been myself and it is a really special place.

“I am really sure everyone will enjoy themselves because we have prepared ourselves to do our best and we are looking forward to receive everyone from all over the world.

“But it is hot and very humid. That is difference about Brazil. It will be winter there. Down South, you can play in five to eight degrees and up North you can play in 30-35 degrees.

"I just hope for the best for England and I also hope when they play Brazil they will lose.”

FIFA has adjusted the kick-off times in seven of next year’s World Cup matches.

Some teams were hoping for later starts to allow them to play in cooler conditions but FIFA changed the times following pressure from broadcasters, who were concerned about viewing figures.

England’s Group D match against Italy on June 14 has been brought forward three hours to 6pm local time.
