WANDERERS (4-1-3-2)

ANDY LONERGAN...8 Some marvellous saves to frustrate his former Preston North End boss Davies, especially from Lascelles’ header in the first half.

ALEX BAPTISTE...6 Willing to run on and support the midfield. Gave as good as he got against a Forest attack with plenty of movement.

MATT MILLLS...7 Came up with a crucial goal at a crucial time for the Whites, atoning for some flat defending for Forest’s effort. Really looks up for the fight.

ZAT KNIGHT...7 Strong at the back and came up with one crucial challenge right at the end to nick the ball from Henderson.

TIM REAM...6 Encouraged forward a lot more this week and while his crossing was hit and miss, his defending was solid.

JAY SPEARING...6 Got among the Forest midfielders and never let Reid get a grip on the game. His distribution did let him down at times, though.

NEIL DANNS...8 Phenomenal work-rate that set the tone for Wanderers’ best stuff on the day. Always hassling and harrying for the ball. MARK DAVIES...7 Very bright start – rivalling Danns’ impact early on – but faded out of the game in the last half an hour or so.

CHUNG-YONG LEE...6 Always an outlet and always in the game for Wanderers – but that final product needs to be better for a player of his pedigree.

DAVID NGOG...6 Worked hard for the cause but his finishing just wasn’t good enough. With Beckford injured – he will carry the can alone at Reading.

JERMAINE BECKFORD...6 Such a shame that he exited the game after 30 minutes. Had he stayed on, you would have backed him to grab a second for Wanderers.

Subs: Moritz 30 (for Beckford) – Superb delivery for the Wanderers goal ..7 Not used: Lee-Barrett, Medo, Pratley, White, Eagles, Bolger.

Star man: Andy Lonergan Marked his 300th career appearance with a handful of amazing saves. This wasn’t a rearguard action for Wanderers but the keeper made sure that Forest did not pinch the points.
