MEDO Kamara has dealt Wanderers a timely summer boost after he returned to action for the first time since early April.
The midfielder was back training with Sierra Leone ahead of their African Nations Cup qualifier against Swaziland last week – suggesting he has recovered from the serious stomach problem that cut his season short.
Medo’s last outing for Wanderers was on April 8 in the 2-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers.
He was forced to withdraw hours before the Whites’ next game, a 1-0 home win over Barnsley, after complaining of pain in his stomach.
The problem got worse for the former FK Partizan star, with Dougie Freedman confirming by mid-April he did not expect the 26-year-old to play again before the end of the campaign.
“Medo has got something wrong with his stomach, he’s not digesting his food right and it's causing him pain,” he told The Bolton News.
Reports before Sierra Leone’s qualifier in Freetown suggested Kamara would be available for the game after returning to the squad but he played no part in a 1-0 win over Swaziland that sets up a meeting with the Seychelles in July in the next round.
Medo did, however, tweet pictures of himself in training with the squad, suggesting his stomach problem has now been rectified.
The tough-tackling fans’ favourite, snapped up from Serbian football in January last year, played 39 times for Wanderers last season and scored twice.
