Would you start Rooney? A few people this morning said they would not - but personally, I'd have him as one of the first names on my team-sheet.

what Wanderers really need is Dawson back from West Brom permanently.rock solid defender and appears to be out in the cold where he is.plus Mason and Juke.
Also Wanderers stop selling the best players just because you get a good offer for them. Not a recent thing as it has been going on for the best part of 50 years

Morning, Marc.

Lots of positivity about Bolton from me for this coming season. Think Dougie has got through the murky waters and is coming out of it now. He is building/has built his own team now. They have all summer to work together to get it right. Lots of players on big wages are now gone. He has pretty much got rid of the players he didn't want - the likes of N'Gog and Eagles. I also think it's great that we have signed 5 players already, Normally we are panicking on the final day. Still need to get rid of Andrews though and bring the Juke in.

As for England, I have been really disappointed with the recent matches. I don't see where we are going to score from. Roy needs to pick players that fit his formation, which means not Rooney. He has been really really poor for me for England for ages.

I'd play Hart, Johnson, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines, Gerrard, Henderson, Lallana, Barkley, Oxlade Chamberlain, Sturridge.

Won't happen though.

Slightly off-topic, but another interesting tale in the paper today about the wife of ex-Wanderer Fabrice Muamba and her new business venture. Read the story here

10:35am

I suspect you are right @Nidgster - Italy don't tend to hold back. I still fancy England for a draw at least, though.

Who would you pick against the Italians?

The Bolton News: Keith Andrews celebrates his late equaliser (photo Simon Dack)

Dougie Freedman has made five new signings this summer - but how much more business he gets done might just depend on trimming the wage bill further. One player looking certain to leave is Keith Andrews, but his talks with Huddersfield Town seem to have hit a snag.

9:52am

Good morning folks - and welcome to Wanderers Live, our rolling blog that will take you through the summer and bring you all the breaking stories at the club.

New Signing for the summer - Chairman
Our chairman has overseen the financial decline of our beloved BWFC over his tenure, he also stated, ironically now, that we would be debt free given 2-3 years in the premiership once we were first promoted.
The club has also had its name dragged through the mud with allegations in the TV documentary re agents and now in the courts of Manchester on a similar issue. He also appointed several poor managers once Big Sam had departed yet still pulls the strings at BWFC.
Surely no other business would stand for this at a senior level........

Playing wise, Dawson, Jukey and one other striker would be excellent. Business done to date has been good (not convinced by Trotter fully)

Re England, find it sad that not too many people are THAT interested in England's world cup campaign. Lots didnt even know we had a game against Honduras on Saturday !
