CONOR Wilkinson could join bottom-of-the-Football League Northampton Town on loan before the weekend.

The young striker, who arrived from Millwall in the summer, has impressed for the Wanderers development squad and had a spell at Chester earlier in the season.

Dougie Freedman rates Wilkinson, who turns 19 this week, and wants to test him out at a higher standard of football.

Aidy Boothroyd’s Cobblers prop up the League Two table with just five wins from 25 games this season.
