WANDERERS and Reading engaged in some friendly Twitter fire yesterday – sparked by a reference to Fabian de Freitas’ famous goal in the 1995 play-off final.
The club posted a picture of the Dutchman’s extra-time effort, which helped send Bruce Rioch’s side towards the Premier League at the Royals’ expense.
It led to the following good-natured banter on the two clubs’ official Twitter accounts: Reading: “Sadly we have got give you that one. Our best response is three goals in six minutes in the Premier League.”
Wanderers: “Okay, fair enough. How’d the table end up that season?” Hint: Wanderers beat Reading to a Uefa Cup spot by a single point.
Reading: “Yeah, well our dad’s bigger than your dad!”
Wanderers: “Okay let’s settle this once and for all. Us, you, 3pm tomorrow.”
Will Dougie Freedman’s side make good on their tough talk?
Or is Reading’s dad really bigger than Bolton’s?
All eyes on the Madejdski Stadium...
