KIT Symons aims to sit down with former Crystal Palace team-mate Dougie Freedman for a cup of tea and sympathy after tonight’s final whistle.
While the Fulham caretaker boss will be looking for a win to help his own chances of getting the Craven Cottage job on a more permanent basis, he knows victory will heap more pressure on his opposite number.
“We’ll both prepare as hard as we can, play to win, and maybe have a cup of tea afterwards,” said the former Wales international.
“It’s quite nice having your former team-mates opposite.”
Freedman feels the time is right for Symons to make the step up from youth team level and take charge.
“His time has come where he should be given an opportunity,” he said. “He has nothing to lose.”
