WANDERERS fans have got it covered as they head to Birmingham for Neil Lennon’s first game in charge.

Upon hearing that the new boss banned his players from training in their hats, many of the 1,500 travelling supporters have decided to don some wooly headgear for today’s match at St Andrew’s.

Such was the interest that the club shop at Middlebrook have slashed their prices for bobble hats until lunchtime today.

Even the local press got in on the fun, with most turning up at Lennon’s first press conference yesterday with a head covering of some sort.

Despite seeming a little bemused at first by journalists’ attire on a balmy October day, the new Whites chief took it all in good humour.

When told it was a way of “breaking the ice,” he responded with a wry smile: “That might not be the only thing broken today.”

Lennon is looking forward to seeing the fans’ homage in the Midlands, adding: “The fans are allowed – I’ll let them off!”
