IT was one-way traffic at Wanderers as the loan window closed yesterday, with three players heading out on temporary deals.

Tom Eaves linked-up with League One Yeovil Town while Tom Youngs signed a short-term deal with Oldham Athletic.

Experienced keeper Paddy Kenny also went out on loan to Boundary Park until January, with Adam Bogdan expected to be named on the bench as cover for Andy Lonergan tomorrow.

Kenny’s deal with the Whites runs out at the end of next month, which means the former Republic of Ireland international is likely to use his spell in League One as an opportunity to find a new club.

Speaking yesterday morning, Neil Lennon revealed he had made efforts to bring in players but would now have to wait until January to do business.

“We’ve been on the phone to a few people,” he said. “It’s a difficult time of year to get anyone with January looming.

“If we don’t get anyone in it’s not a disaster, if we do it’s a bonus.”

Lennon has been strongly linked with his former Celtic charge Kris Commons, who is considering a contract extension at Parkhead but at loggerheads over the length of the deal on the table.

Commons was top scorer at Celtic last season and has also scored five times for the Hoops this term but reports suggest he is not settled under manager Ronny Deila.

Lennon, who signed the 31-year-old from Derby nearly three years ago, has been looking to add an extra attacking edge to his squad but did his best to play down speculation.

“We’re talking about a player under contract and I can’t do that,” he said.

“I don’t know the situation at Celtic but what I do know is that he’s got six months left on his contract so he’ll be a likely proposition for a number of clubs.

“I know Kris very well, obviously, but at this moment in time I can’t say any more.”
