JOHN Ruddy intends to come away with a win at the Macron Stadium, by any means necessary.

The pressure is on for Norwich as they chase an immediate return to the Premier League, with no margin for error in the final five games of the season.

Just seven points separate the top seven teams going into this weekend’s round of fixtures and Ruddy is convinced the Canaries have enough about them to last the pace.

"The only thing that matters at this stage of the season is points,” said the once-capped England international. “It doesn't matter how you do it, you just have to get the wins.

"We have big-game players and know within ourselves we can deal with the pressure. All we can do is concentrate on ourselves and go into games knowing what we can do.”

Norwich have taken 32 points from a possible 39, beating both Sheffield Wednesday and Brighton over the Easter weekend.

Ruddy is leaving nothing to chance and reckons his side have to target victory in each of their five remaining games to make sure they return to the top flight.

“The confidence is high in the group and the last two games have epitomised how solid we look,” he said. “Against Brighton we largely dominated and they didn't cause us too many problems, then we ensured Sheffield Wednesday's attacks were pretty non-existent.

“There are no easy games at this stage of the season. Everyone is scrapping for points, including us. We have a target and it's up to us now to make sure we reach it.

“We've got 15 points left to play for and realistically if we get those 15 points we're going to be promoted. It's as simple as that and we're confident we can get to where we want to be.”

Manager Alex Neil is singing from a similar hymn sheet – delighted by the fact his side’s destiny is now in their own hands.

“The important fact is we have the points on the board, which other teams below us don’t have. It just gives us the added confidence if we continue to do our jobs between now and the end of the season then nobody else can affect it – we will finish in the top two if we continue to win games."
