NEGOTIATIONS with some of Wanderers’ out-of-contract stars will continue – even after the club announce their retained list in the next few days.

While the release of some players is expected to be confirmed after the weekend, the future of senior stars such as Matt Mills, Andy Lonergan and Adam Bogdan is unlikely to be resolved.

A bumper contract offer has now been made to Bogdan in an effort to keep him at the Macron Stadium but is no nearer to being signed.

That leaves Neil Lennon’s goalkeeping situation very much up in the air – and sources at the club claim a contract for Lonergan has not yet been completely ruled out.

The 31-year-old is keen to remain with the Whites and The Bolton News understands he will not be considering a move to Wigan Athletic this summer.

Neil Lennon has been in Spain over the last few days, mixing a commentary job with the BBC with a scouting mission.
