WE arrived in the fanzone in our replica shirts and boots newly-Dubinned, ready to answer the call from Neil Lennon as he struggled to put a team out this week.

It seems like nobody wants to come to Bolton. Well, that’s their loss not ours.

We only want players who want to play for us and wear the Wanderers shirt with pride and passion.

Lennon did eventually manage to cobble a team together who did just that.

We welcomed back young Max Clayton and David Wheater, while Francesco Pisano made his debut.

Brighton took health and safety to a new level as they played in their high-vis shirts.

I thought that they were training tops but they kept them on.

From the kick-off we went at Brighton and for 30 minutes we were well on top.

Then we got caught by a defensive mix-up and Dale Stephens put Brighton ahead against the run of play.

This knocked us for a few minutes and Brighton took advantage when Jamie Murphy doubled their lead.

When the going gets tough, the tough get going and my man of the match, Neil Danns, got us back in the game just before half time.

In the second half, Brighton upped their game but we held firm and when Murphy was sent off, we went for it.

The crowd roared the Wanderers on and we erupted when Gary Madine’s superb header went in with only a minute to go. Lennon’s impression of Usain Bolt running down the touchline was a sight to behold.

Madine deserves special mention as he worked his socks off. He earned his goal and should have had another minutes earlier but his effort was mysteriously disallowed by the linesman.

When you get this level of pride and passion, the performances will come.

There’s lots of room for improvement but Lennon has got the spirit back in the team.

Now that the court case which has been hanging over everybody’s heads for years has finally been successfully concluded, we can concentrate on the football again. Let’s move on together.
