WANDERERS wide man Liam Feeney wants to add more goals to his game this season.

The Londoner, who made his 50th league appearance for the club on Saturday against league leaders Brighton, has scored two in his last four games for the Whites – a tally that sees him as the early front runner in the scoring charts.

And he hopes there are more net gains to come from his role in the three behind the striker in Neil Lennon's current favoured 4-2-3-1 formation.

With Wanderers struggling for goals this season, the likes of Feeney, Max Clayton and Wellington Silva chipping in would ease the burden for lone front man Gary Madine.

And Feeney sees no reason why he cannot get his name on the scoresheet with more regularity.

He said: "I always feel like my pace can get me chances.

"I like playing alongside someone like Gaz, who's always going to win his headers and he's clever with his flick-ons and touches.

"(Stephen) Dobbie in behind is really intelligent with his passing as well.

"I want to score more goals and it's something I'm really working on, 100 per cent.

"I want to get myself into better positions.

"I got in a few times in pre-season and probably should have had a few more if I'm being honest.

"I enjoy playing further forward and you can definitely never score too many.

"That, and the assists, are why I'm on the pitch and I am happy with my performances overall.

"I haven't really targeted any particular number (of goals).

"I look at the game I play, reflect, and see how many chances I get.

"I'm not aiming at any number in particular but more, definitely."

Feeney is one of just four Wanderers players to have figured in all 10 games this season in league and cup, alongside Ben Amos, Dean Moxey and Neil Danns, and has started all but one of those.

But he has only been on the winning side once in that run – in the 2-1 home victory over Wolves when he set the Whites on the road to a first three-point return of the campaign with the opening goal.

It may be the solitary win of the season to date but it unsurprisingly came on home soil at the Macron Stadium.

So far this season in the Championship, Wanderers are unbeaten at home and that good record is a continuation of last season when Lennon's arrival coincided with an upturn with fortunes at the Macron.

It is on the road where there is cause for concern with just two wins from 16 away matches in 2015 in all competitions.

In the league, Lennon's side has lost 10 of 15 outings away and picked up just nine points from 45 available.

Last time out, Feeney scored early on at Huddersfield Town but the Whites went on to ship four at the other end and succumb to a heavy defeat.

They have a return of just one point from 12 from their four away games this season so far.

It is form that Feeney acknowledges has to improve ahead of Saturday's trip to face QPR with the 28-year-old hoping to go into the two-week international break on a positive note.

“We’re still finding our feet as a team, with a few new faces," Feeney told the club.

"In general the performances haven’t been too bad, especially at home.

“We just need to turn a few of those draws into wins and defeats into draws if we can.

"Hopefully I can score again and help us get a good result.

“It’s always nice to go into an international break in good form and with a good result – it makes the break all the better.

“You can get lads rested and back from injury before going again into the next batch of games.

“We’ll be putting in the hard work to make sure we get as much as possible going into the break.”
