JUSSI Jaaskelainen and Keith Branagan will pass the generational baton at the Wanderers legends match today.
Two of the club’s most fondly-remembered keepers will play on opposite sides at the Macron before passing on to their sons, Will and Ritchie.
Jaaskelainen will be making his first appearance on the pitch at Bolton since December 31, 2011 when he kept goal in a 1-1 draw against Wolves. The big Finn, third on the club’s all-time appearance list with 530, left the following summer for West Ham.
His son Will signed professional terms with Bolton last year and has been tipped to follow his dad into the senior ranks.
Branagan, the man responsible for the most famous penalty save in Bolton history – to inspire a Wanderers comeback in the Championship play-off final at Wembley in 1995, has been struggling with a shoulder problem but is keen to play at least a half before passing the gloves on to Ritchie, the former Bury and current Macclesfield Town stopper.
Tickets for the game, which kicks-off at 3pm, can be bought on the day, costing £10 for adults, £5 for concessions and £25 for a family of four (two adults, two concessions).
