VIV Solomon-Otabor could be a hidden ace in Wanderers’ pack at Bradford City tomorrow.

The on-loan Birmingham City winger has only had brief opportunities to showcase his skills since arriving at the Macron on deadline day.

Both of his appearances thus far have been made off the bench but Phil Parkinson insists the 21-year-old is more than capable of commanding a regular start.

Solomon-Otabor has played most of his football on the left but his manager at Birmingham, Gianfranco Zola, sees his future through the middle as a pacy centre-forward.

Chances in that position are limited after Parkinson switched to a 3-5-2 formation but the Whites boss insists the highly-rated youngster will get a chance.

“Viv has been a bit unfortunate because he’s a wide man and I thought it would have been a big ask to throw him with us learning a new system,” he said. “He ended up on the bench and he’s waiting for that chance now. But in the few glimpses the supporters have seen, and what we have seen on the training ground, I think he’s someone who can make a real impact for us.

“He has pace and, especially at the back end of games, it can frighten defenders. I still feel he has that ability to hurt the opposition’s back four because he’s that powerful in full stride.

“I have watched him closely in training and he’s been great with the lads, fitted in well, which is great considering he’s only a young lad.

“He’ll definitely get his chance.”

Meanwhile, Bulgaria international Ivan Bandalovski has left Wanderers following the club’s decision to offer Reece Wabara a short-term deal to the end of the season.
