A LOCAL charity has benefitted to the tune of £10,000 thanks to a football competition endorsed by Bolton Wanderers.
High Five, based in Chorley, is a group run by volunteer parents, providing activities for children with severe learning and physical disabilities and their families.
The money was raised during last season’s Hospital Cup tournament by clubs from all over Bolton.
The tournament has been running in the area since 1934 and initially raised money to broadcast Bolton Wanderers games to patients at Bolton Royal Hospital.
The final is played at the Macron each May, with Tempest United winning this season's trophy against Atherton LR.
