WANDERERS Under-18s remain top of the U18 Professional Development League Two North after coming from behind to beat Cardiff City 4-1 on Saturday.

Playing on home soil at the Eddie Davies Academy, Nicky Spooner's side went behind after just four minutes.

But they responded well and were level three minutes later when Dennis Politic netted after connecting with a Luca Navarro cross.

Back on level terms, the young Whites began to dominate possession and created several good chances.

And they went in front on 20 minutes when Politic was fouled in the Cardiff box and Navarro despatched the resulting penalty.

It could have been three on the half-hour mark but the Cardiff goalkeeper made a smart save to deny Navarro a second.

In the second half, Cardiff again started well, keeping good possession.

But Wanderers were always a threat going forward and they made it three on the break when Politic played a neat one-two with Navarro and then played in Luca Connell, who fired home an unstoppable shot from distance.

And the scoring was completed when Navarro bagged his second to seal the big victory.

Spooner's side visit Colchester United, next, on Saturday, kick off 11am.
