WANDERERS target, Bafetimbi Gomis, has sent a "come and get me" message to Italy.
Gary Megson has been on the trail of the St Etienne striker since January, when he was considered as a possible replacement for Nicoloas Anelka.
But the 22-year-old, who has also been linked with Newcastle and the French club, Marseille, says he would prefer to play in Serie A.
In an interview with the French publication, L'Equipe, Gomis said he was attracted by a possible move to England, but added: "It is better to go to Italy playing than to England in a team at the bottom of the league.
"Anyway, I still have a lot of things to learn."
Gomis, who has been likened to Didier Drogba, says his future in France could hinge on whether coach, Laurent Roussey, stays at St Etienne.
"I am very happy to play for St Etienne, but I don't know if I will still be there next season," he added.
"The coach did his best for me to stay last summer, and he has improved me a lot.
"I am very happy with him at the helm. His stay at the club will be an essential factor for my future."

Article taken directly from Sky Sports News ! Gomis would be a great signing if we could get him - pace and power up front is sadly missing from our game . However , he is in demand and larger clubs than us will probably sem more appealing. Megson is trying to reduce the age of his squad which is why Campo , Stelios and Jussi will all leave this summer . The signing of Zoltan Gera from WBA is nailed on and will provide some midfield guile which we have missed this year . Fabrice Muamba from Birmingham is another probable signing as a replacement for Campo but this will hinge on Birmingham getting relegated. It is fair to say that their wil be plenty of comings and goings this summer - should be very , very interesting !

Gareth B - are you sure about Gera???? hes nowhere near premier leagye standard, hes a flair player for div 1 thats all. hes a bit like koumas, seems to be capable but isnt good point Chris2412 - as a town bolton isnt attractive to foreigners, and we are at the bottom of the league. the only thing working in our favour over the other leagues is the money we can offer. when allardyce was at the club we could also offer the prspect of playing for an ambitious, forward thinking club, but with megson in charge our only plus point for a foreigner is money. so i dont expect any big name signings this summer, which are probably necessary to appease the fans. season ticket sales will plummet, and megson will be sacked after 10 games, leaving us in another relegation dogfight a much better solution would be to get in a manager now who has some appeal to foreign players, or hope sepp blatters 6 + 5 rule gets rushed through quickly!!

Would really like to see more English players at the club, or players with experience in the English game. The problem is, so would every other club in the premiership (Arsenal excepted).Especially with the next few months being a revolving door, we need players who can adapt quickly so as to avoid another disastrous start to the season.

charlie wrote:The problem is that it is hard just to stand back and ignore the situation in respect of the manager and the club. Its like letting Gary Glitter befriend your kids and allowing it happen its just hard to stand by and see what a mess will be made by two idiots. Maybe Gartside is the less of the two as he cannot directly affect the dealing with the players and systems imposed. The main problem with Megson is that when he played he would run for 90 minutes and had no class just a work horse and he does not understand the workings of the elite players and cannot comprehend why they have so much time on the ball without putting the effort in so he builds his side round the players he understands, the type of player who runs and runs yet maybe not be able to pass the ball or run with ball i.e. Gavin McCann, Cohen and the like. In so doing he does not have room for the better quality player who does not put the miles in because they have natural talent and don't need to so his sides are predominately boring and will never progress because he has no room for the match winners. Just look at the chances we have created in each game since his arrival the lowest ever in some games we have not even had two chances. That is why we will find it hard as long as he is in charge of our team and that is why we have not seen stelios on the park and diouf has had enough.
Breezeblock - I know where you are coming from! I have also have had all sorts of abuse from people on this site mainly because we have a different point of view. Embankment Bob - There have been many ups and downs and no doubt there will be many more but making yourself miserable isnt going to help. If you are not going to the Reebok fair enough but don't try to convince others it is the correct thing to do. As for playing decent football that didn't happen under Sam anyway.

If youre too thick to understand what I mean, Breezeblock, I'll spell it out for you. Next season is likely to see attendances fall dramatically again, cup competitions will be treated as an excuse to give squad players a run out, and the club will once more be fighting a relegation battle from the outset. All the exciting players who were brought to the Reebok have gone, Megson will look to bring in journeymen players from the lower leagues. I suspect you get excited not about watching the current Bolton team, but about watching the likes of Rooney, Gerrard, Drogba etc.

i have positive news on the rasiak deal....there deffinately isn't going to be one on saturday i saw rasiak warming up on the sidelines and then the worst a coach came onto the touchline and waved for him to come over and my heart stopped as i knew at only 1-0 we wudnt want him coming on but the substitution never came which i was and still am ecstatic about.... i have later been told that the reason rasiak was called over was not for a sub but apparently new fa rules state that no more than three players can warm up at once (meite, cohen and stelios were already there) and i thought that this would immensely cheer you guys up keep the faith chelski mite have an off day lol

It is not money it is principle why should we have coco the clown running the club when we have a wide and various choice of more capable managers around. Again it all boils down to Lisbon not only the team selection but the 50 meter sprint to get down the tunnel by the ginger numpty. If you wish to stand by the actions of our chairman who not but twice put us in danger of loosing all that we have built by appointing two managers on the cheep, the first was a mistake and was forgivable the second was unprofessional and inept. We have only stayed up by a lot of luck rather than good management. Once Megson has departed then I will renew my season ticket however, that is my choice. It is all very well and good saying support the team well I think 32 years of going home and away in all the divisions may not count for you however, once you have reached that milestone then you can comment on how to support your team.
