AUSTRALIAN international Aaron Mooy is enjoying life back in his native Sydney after a move to the A-League earlier this year.

The attacking midfielder swapped his home town for Wanderers in 2006 as a 16-year-old but is now plying his trade with a different Wanderers – the Sydney version – after leaving Scottish outfit St Mirren in the close season.

And the former Whites youngster says the move has provided more regular football Down Under as well as a chance with the senior national side.

The 22-year-old said: “It really has turned out to be a great move.

“I never thought I’d come back home and end up in the Socceroos.

“Things have been going really well for me at the moment. When I was in Scotland, I was a bit frustrated because I wasn’t playing much.

“But I’ve been given a really great opportunity to get regular game time at the Wanderers.

“So now I’m just enjoying my football more than ever and I’m really happy to be back around my family.”
