MATCHDAY LIVE: Leeds 1 Wanderers 0
This live event has finished
All over. Dreadful game.
Andrews booked for dissent
Davies squared for Ngog, who spooned his shot over the bar from 10 yards out. Big chance missed for an equaliser.
Butterfield on for Spearing
Afobe booked for a foul on Tate.
Becchio heads over the top from Diouf's corner. Wanderers rocking a little bit now.
Ngog and Afobe on for Chungy and Pratley
Eurgh.... The run goes on. Mears had got away with one on McCormack earlier and this lunge was definitely a pen. Becchio sent Bogdan the wrong way from the spot.
Mears on McCormack. It was the first time Leeds had turned up the pressure.
Penalty shout for Leeds as Mears wrestled with McCormack. Could easily have been given in my view.
Nearly an hour gone and I think we've had one shot on target.
Alonso has a blast at goal. Well over the top, but good to see the full-backs pushing on a little in this half.
Players out for the second half.
Half time coming up. Will be a bit of a relief, to be honest.
Eagles brightens things up with a brilliant 25 yard shot that forces Kenny into action for the first time, pushing it away for a corner.
Very little to write about. Warnock continues to entertain by harranguing the fourth official but aside from that, not much in terms of chances for either side.
Well it hasn't been a classic by any stretch, but Wanderers still on top.
Wanderers definitely winning their battles at the moment. They have been much the better side in the opening 20-odd minutes.
Eagles skims the post. Pratley made a fine challenge on Tate to win the ball in midfield, and after Davies had played him in, Eagles drilled a left-footed shot that nearly found the bottom corner.
Warnock in full rant mode at the fourth official after Alonso went down injured.
Pratley carries the ball deep into the Leeds half and tries his luck. Shot wasn't up to much, if I'm being honest.
Austin drives a free kick from 30 yards that takes a nick and drifts just wide of the post. Could have gone anywhere.
Eagles swings a free kick in for Pratley, who gets a good header in on goal but the ball drops just over the bar.
Byram goes in the book for Leeds. Cynical foul on Chungy.
Becchio skies the first effort for Leeds from the edge of the box. Game has yet to settle really.
Pitch doesn't look the best. Ball bobbling about a lot early on.
Diouf just got better of Alonso and swung a dangerous cross in. Important battle for the young defender that one.
Davies heads down for Pratley, who smashes a shot well over the bar.
Ready for the off now
Good following of Wanderers fans to my right. Would estimate about 2,000 in total. Hopefully Leeds can supply a figure later on.
As my travelling bud Jack Dearden has just told me, Neil Warnock was manager of QPR when Wanderers last kept a clean sheet away from home in the league. Omen?
Hardly a rousing reception as the players' names being read out on the pitch. Sure it will get noisier in a few minutes.
Freedman has a track record for bringing younger players through. Would be nice to think a couple of the Under-18s that have been doing so well will get an opportunity.
I'm also told that Tom Eaves has travelled with the squad today. Chris Lester and Zak Clough had been in the first team reckoning on Boxing Day too...
So for anyone that missed the teams, Wanderers are unchanged aside from David Ngog being named on the bench.
Moaning over, we're watching Tony Yeboah goals on the big screen with Survivor's Eye of the Tiger blasting out on the tannoy. Stirring stuff.
And there are no plug sockets...
Made it to the press box and found I'd been seated under a giant staircase that obstructs the view of the pitch...
Will soon head out of the press room to brave the cold. Expect the vast majority of my future updates to contain some reference to the weather. Brrr.

Errm,DF and 40 other managers are doing the same thing. The rich clubs wil win out.
@MarcIles why not scour europe or prem for bargains, not setting his sights very high personally— @radcliffe78 01 January 2013
@MarcIles actually, I'd probably take a look at Bury's David Worrall & Swindons Louis Thompson. Both are young though— @njcoleman79 01 January 2013
@MarcIles Max Clayton from Crewe. Him and Powell (at Utd) very similar in quality and age. They're best mates apparently...— @bwfc_85 01 January 2013
Sam Byram the one to watch in the Leeds team for me. Thought he was outstanding at the Reebok earlier in the season.
Diouf back in the Leeds team too.
Kenny; Peltier, Pearce, Green, Tate, Austin, Byram, Norris, Diouf, McCormack, Becchio.
Unchanged side for Wanderers - with Ngog back on the bench in place of Joe Riley.
@OfficialBWFC @MarcIles It is an unchanged side from Sat! Nice 2 know DF listened 2 me 4 once!— @Sophthecatsmum 01 January 2013

@MarcIles does that mean we aint prepared to spend any money?— @1JBU 01 January 2013
@MarcIles I honestly can't think of a single lower league player that could have an impact on our first team. DF surprised me with this— @njcoleman79 01 January 2013
Hope not. Nice easy-to-type names only please :-)

Freedman did indeed say he is keen to scour the lower leagues for bargains this month. Who would you like to see come in?

The last time I was here was November 2007, and I saw Bury beat Leeds 2-1 in the cup.
Nice, smart press room here at Leeds. They've even thrown in a New Year kebab for the reporters... although I did give them a wide berth.
Wanderers looking for back to back wins for the first time this season too, of course. That hasn't happened since March in the league.
Team news due in five minutes I'm told.
Leeds programme today a 26-page 'special' on the club's supporters and why they follow the team. I defy even the most ardent Leeds fan to plough their way through all that!
But that's where they need to start today. New year, fresh start and all that...
The last one was QPR on the opening day of last season. Wanderers did shut Aston Villa out in the Carling Cup too, I suppose.
Totted it up before and it is now 30 games since I last saw Wanderers keep a clean sheet in a league games away from the Reebok.
Just waiting in the press room for the team sheets, but I'd be surprised if there are many changes after a good performance against Birmingham.
It's breezy here at Elland Road, so make sure you wrap up if you are making the trip.
Good afternoon all, and a happy New Year.
