EX-WANDERERS star Nicky Hunt finally feels he can relaunch his career three years after leaving the Reebok.

After failed spells at Bristol City, Preston and, most recently Rotherham, the Westhoughton-born full-back has made a playing return with League Two Accrington Stanley, who are managed by another former Wanderers, Leam Richardson.

“I obviously know Leam as he was at Bolton with me and I know he will be a great manager.

“I have come here to hopefully continue winning games,” he said after a winning debut against Chesterfield.

“It has been frustrating for me as I was signed by Rotherham at the start of the season, played the first eight or nine games and then fell out of favour.

“It’s hard training every day without a game at the end of it. It wasn’t to be at Rotherham and now I am happy to be here, it’s local for me.”
