WANDERERS' Under-21 clash with Newcastle United tonight has been postponed due to snow and ice at the Lancashire County FA ground in Leyland.

The Whites had been hoping to play their first Premier League U21s match of 2013 but the home match will now be rescheduled.

It is a blow for first-team manager Dougie Freedman who had been hoping to give defender David Wheater some much-needed game time after more than eight months out with a cruciate knee ligament injury.
