CRAIG Dawson is up to speed and could make his Wanderers debut tomorrow, according to Dougie Freedman.

The West Brom defender, who joined the club on a 93-day loan last week, is in contention to challenge Zat Knight and Tim Ream for a starting place against Watford.

But the Wanderers boss reckons the weekend could come too soon for his other new signing, Medo Kamara, who had been on a winter break with his Serbian club FK Partizan.

“Craig has trained with us for the last 10 days really, so he’s fine,” Freedman said.

“He’s definitely in contention to play.

“Medo has been on a winter break, so he’s been back in training for 22 days without a game.

“It would be difficult to say whether you could put him straight into the team. And I think he might need that period to settle a little bit.”

Keith Andrews remains on the sidelines nursing problems with his thigh and Achilles, and it is thought the Irishman could be missing for a couple more weeks as he tries to rectify the problems.

But Wanderers have no new fitness worries after last weekend’s unlucky FA Cup defeat against Everton.

Freedman saw enough in that performance to suggest his tactical approach is starting to be embraced by the players.

And the Scot has high hopes of claiming a third win away from home this season.

“We are moving forward, although results don’t suggest it, but I believe strongly that we are,” he said.

“On the field, I think it is starting to click.

“In that game I saw that the players were taking on board what I wanted from them, so in that respect we should be looking forward to the game at Watford and the chance to take three points.”
