CRAIG Davies is on the verge of a loan move to Preston North End.
The Wanderers striker is set to move to Deepdale – where he will play alongside ex-skipper Kevin Davies – until the end of the season.
The move should free up cash for Dougie Freedman to sign a left-back before the close of the transfer window tomorrow.
Speaking at this afternoon’s press conference, the Whites boss warned that even after the sale of David Ngog at the start of the week, he still expected having to make his own funds for incoming transfers in the next 24 hours.
“I’m trying to be as honest as I can, and this is a difficult time for everyone on and off the field,” he said. “It’s a balancing act.
“There are certain players out there that I would like to get but they are not available because of the money situation.
“We are trying to generate that.”
