WANDERERS have today appointed Iain Brunskill as the new coach of the Under-21s development squad at the Macron Stadium.

The 37-year-old, who had brief spell at Bury as a player, has worked on the coaching staff at Liverpool and was assistant manager at Blackburn under Henning Berg and also worked at Ewood Park under former Whites boss Sam Allardyce.

He also briefly managed Floriana FC in Malta.

Brunskill takes up the Wanderers role vacated after Jamie Fullarton’s departure and boss Neil Lennon is pleased to have him on board.

Lennon told The Bolton News: “He is a very experienced coach from his time at Liverpool and Blackburn.

“He is very impressive and an excellent coach.

“He ticks all the boxes for the role we want him to do here at Bolton.”
