TOP scorer Ivan Klasnic could be waving goodbye to the Reebok this summer – but he looks unlikely to take up Croatian club Rijeka on their offer of a deal next season.
It seems likely that the 32-year-old hitman, who leads Wanderers’ scoring charts with nine goals in all competitions, will be heading for pastures new when his contract runs out in July, regardless of whether the club remain in the Premier League or not.
The striker represents Croatia at international level but has never played club football there, starting his professional career in his country of birth, Germany.
But if he does end his three-year stay in Bolton, the former Nantes and Werder Bremen hitman is unlikely to head in that direction.
“This is the first time that I have heard something like that,” Klasnic said in the Croatian press.
“I don’t know anything about Rijeka’s interest and, for sure, nobody has called me so far.
“I’m glad that they rate me so highly in Croatia and I understand that they have big ambitions, but the reality is something different.”
