OWEN Coyle isn’t ruling out Chung-Yong Lee making an appearance from the start of Sunday’s survival showdown at Stoke.

The Wanderers boss has pleased with the South Korean winger’s progress since he returned to full training nearly a month ago.

Chung-Yong made his comeback off the bench against West Brom last weekend – one that was well-ahead of schedule –- and has since shown no ill-effects of his nine-month lay-off.

Coyle played down his chances of starting at the Britannia Stadium but believes the 23-year-old’s rapid recovery means that nothing can be discounted at this stage of the week.

“He came through 70 minutes the other day in a practice match and he’s fit,” said the Wanderers boss.

“Whether he’s at the point where he can start games is difficult because we wouldn’t want to do anything that could harm his long term well being.

“But for that brief period against West Brom you could see his quality and if he continues to improve as he has done then we’ll have to see what can happen against Stoke.”

Coyle will check on the fitness of Nigel Reo-Coker and Martin Petrov today, and also hopes to welcome back Mark Davies from illness after the midfielder missed the midweek Junior Whites presentation evening through illness.
