MANAGER Owen Coyle is banking on a ‘White-hot’ atmosphere at the Reebok Stadium tonight when Leeds United come to town.

The cross-Pennine clash between two former top-flight clubs is likely to see the attendance swell with an expected 4,500 travelling from Yorkshire to pack the away end.

Coyle is relishing the big-match atmosphere that could create and believes the Wanderers faithful will respond in kind. He also expects his players to be fired up by an increase in the volume off the pitch.

The Scot said: “It should be fantastic atmosphere. That’s more what we are used to (4,500 travelling fans) and I think that will actually help us.

“I believe it will be a better game in terms of atmosphere from our fans too.

“The supporters have put so much in and we are very fortunate that we do have a fantastic fan base.

“They support the club through thick and thin and they will be up for it tonight. We have to be the same on the pitch to put smiles on their faces.”

Wanderers won’t have it easy against a Leeds team that won at Bristol City on Saturday and also pulled off a Capital One Cup shock a week ago when they dumped in-form Everton out at Elland Road.

And after managing teams against Neil Warnock sides at QPR and Crystal Palace in the past, Coyle knows the Yorkshire outfit will arrive in confident mood.

He added: “Neil (Warnock) is somebody who has served the game very well and loves the game.

“He is enthusiastic as ever and someone I have a lot of time for.

“There is no doubt his team will be fired up and passionate like him.

“They are coming off a good result against Bristol City at the weekend so we know it will be a tough game.”
