Hull KR prop James Green has committed his future to the club by signing a two-year contract extension.

The 23-year-old former Skirlaugh Bulls front rower has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign with the Robins in 2014, having appeared in all but one of his side's 12 matches so far, despite fierce competition for places in the pack.

Rovers coach Craig Sandercock said: " He's come a long way in a fairly short space of time and over the past two or three years we've been really happy with the improvements in his game.

"Unfortunately you can't keep everyone, but James is a player we identified that we'd like to keep. He's come through our academy system, he's made his debut at this great club and we really think he could become one of our premier front rowers in the years to come.

"He is one of our local, home-grown players who we think is going to get even better and that's why he fully deserves this new two-year deal."
