Akinfenwa brace sends Cobblers through

Two goals from Adebayo Akinfenwa gave Northampton a memorable 2-1 victory in their Carling Cup triumph over 10-man Bolton.

Akinfenwa made the breakthrough for the League One side in the 21st minute from the penalty spot and extended their lead seven minutes later.

Bolton then had stand-in skipper Gary Cahill sent off before substitute Kevin Nolan pulled a goal back eight minutes from time.
