The cyclist who accused Lance Armstrong of doping has been formally stripped of his 2004 Olympic title after he admitted taking performance-enhancing drugs.

Tyler Hamilton admitted last year he had taken banned drugs, and the IOC has announced they have stripped the American of his gold in the road race time trial.

Russian rider Viatcheslav Ekimov now gets the gold medal, USA's Bobby Julich moves up from bronze to silver, and Australia's Michael Rogers who had finished fourth gets a bronze medal.

Hamilton accused Armstrong in a CBS interview last year of doping - but the seven-times Tour de winner has denied using performance-enhancing drugs.
