EL-HADJI Diouf returned to training yesterday to face some tough questions on his future at Wanderers.
The want-away striker was given time off to attend to some personal issues in Senegal when the squad flew to Austria for a pre-season training camp last week.
But after rejoining his team-mates at Euxton, Gary Megson has warned the 27-year-old that he must quickly re-focus on his career at the Reebok.
Diouf, who is in the final year of his current contract, claimed in April that he would leave Bolton whether they remained in the top flight or not.
No firm offers came in over the summer, leaving the striker facing a difficult position as he prepares to enter his fifth season wearing the club’s colours.
Megson has previously stated that he would be “delighted” to see the two-time African Player of the Year back down in his request to leave Bolton, though his absence during the first two weeks of pre-season training has fans worried that the situation could soon come to a head.
Ali Al-Habsi, Johan Elmander and Abdoulaye Meite also returned to training after their extended breaks, leaving Megson with a full squad to pick from as he prepares for the two friendlies at Rochdale and Macclesfield this weekend.
