WANDERERS crashed to their seventh away defeat of the season after a frustrating display at Goodison Park.
Gary Megson's side survived a one-sided first half without having Jussi Jaaskelainen seriously tested, but the Mersey men stepped up a gear in the second period to consign Bolton to another miserable day away from the Reebok.
Phil Neville scored a fortuitous first goal of the season, his cross evading both Tim Cahill and the on-rushing Jaaskelainen before bouncing into the net.
Cahill was then served-up his sixth goal in nine games by Joleon Lescott as the Wanderers defence were caught standing by an advantage played by referee Rob Styles.
