OUR government recently commissioned a report on early childhood education (The Cambridge Primary Review) and found that children respond better to a play-based learning at a young age. Children learn better through structure play. I have never met a teacher who disagrees with that.
Yet, the opportunity to raise the school starting age to six was ignored!
Julia Simpkin from Bolton NUT is correct, “What a wasted opportunity” (The Bolton News October 17).
Sounds like the Market Hall saga and fluoride again. Why waste valuable energy, time and our income tax to ask what people want then ignore it?
