A mum and child were taken to safety by firefighters after a car caught fire in Westhoughton.
Atherton fire crew were called to the scene at around 3pm and say that there are no reported injuries.
The fire happened on Manchester Road, in Westhoughton when the mum noticed smoke.
They were both able to get out of the vehicle safely, and firefighters made the area safe.

“The car engine gave out, and it caught light.
“The mum and child were inside the vehicle when they noticed smoke.
“They were uninjured, and they got out quickly.
“We put the fire out and made it safe.
“We remained on the scene for about an hour.”
