WILFRED BROADBENT On 30th July 2018, peacefully in hospital after a short illness, Wilfred aged 90 years, widower of Nora (nee Fearnside), who passed away in 2010, a much loved Dad to Lynn, Carol and Julie, father in law to Alan and Derek, loving grand father to Matthew, Keiran, Ben, Adam and Aaron, and a Great grand father to Mazzy, Kayla and Nathaniel, he was also a friend and neighbour to many. Cortto leave the private chapel of Fred Hamer's Funeral Home, Tonge Moor Road Bolton on Tuesday 14th August 2018 for a committal at Overdale West Chapel at 2.30pm. Family flowers only please donations if desired to Bolton Hospice care of and all enquires to Fred Hamer Funerals, Tonge Moor Rd, Bolton. Wilf Broadbent has a very special place in my life. I never knew my grandfather (Patrick Hillan) who lived and worked in Bolton all his life and I had only 2 photos of him. The Bolton Evening News published the photo in 1999 asking if anyone knew him and the little girl he was holding. Low and behold I received a letter from Wilf and Nora Broadbent identifying the little girl and saying they knew the family. Wilf was the only person I've had contact with who actually spoke to my grandfather. He and Nora played a large part in my getting to know him better and I enjoyed my correspondence with them very much. Lynn, you are a kind and generous soul like your father and mother. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers...Our hearts go out to you ~Liz and John
