ELSIE ATKINSON On 18th May 2020 in Wigan Infirmary, Elsie of Westhoughton sadly passed away aged 88 years. Beloved wife of Peter, a precious mum to Anne and Sean, loving mother-in-law to Susan, much loved nana of Rachel, Catherine, John, Matthew and Patrick, 'little nana' to Jack, Megan, Sofia, Polly Jean and Maggie. A treasured friend to all, she will be missed so very much and lit up the life of all who knew her. A private family graveside service will take place on Friday 29th May at Westhoughton Cemetery after leaving from Elsie's home at 10:10. A church service and a celebration of Elsie's life will follow at a later date. Flowers welcome or donations accepted in memory of Elsie for Parkinson's UK via website elsieatkinson@muchloved.com. My sympathies to you all. Elsie worked with my dad for many years. I have photos of her in her various Westhoughton carnival outfits , always ready to join in the fun. I last chatted to her around 3 years ago at half time at her beloved BWFC , though her memory had faded she recognised my dad on photos . R.I.P. Elsie xx Marian ( Pearce)

What a much loved character Elsie was, they broke the mold when she was born. I always said she should write a book. R.I.P Elsie
